Meissen Candlesticks in Polychrome Porcelain – 6-Arm, Set of 2 | 20th Century
A rare and impressive pair of monumental 6-arm candlesticks from Meissen, where polychrome porcelain art and exceptional craftsmanship unite in a sculptural and almost museum-like expression.
Crafted in richly decorated polychrome porcelain with hand-modeled flowers, fine gold details, and figurative elements, the candlesticks appear as exquisite art objects. The color palette of soft pastels combined with the high level of detail creates a vibrant and sophisticated overall impression.
The six curved arms gracefully unfold from the center, forming a strong symmetry that gives the set a significant architectural presence. With their size and visual weight, they function ideally as a centerpiece or as balancing elements in a classic arrangement. As a complete pair, they achieve a rare decorative impact and visual tranquility – a quality rarely preserved on such a grand scale and in such excellent condition.
Selected with a focus on rarity, size, and collector's value.
History & Context — read more ▾
Meissen is considered one of Europe's most prestigious porcelain manufacturers and has been synonymous with technical skill and artistic finesse since the 18th century. Especially figurative and richly decorated objects such as these candlesticks bear witness to a tradition where craftsmanship and aesthetics unite in a higher harmony.
The monumental, multi-armed candlesticks were often created as decorative centerpieces in larger interiors, where they served both as a light source and as sculptural elements. Examples of this size and with such a high degree of detail are rarely preserved as a pair, which further emphasizes their collector's value.
